Raleigh police: Body found on trail at Lake Johnson

Raleigh, N.C. — A body was found early Saturday on a walking trail at Lake Johnson, Raleigh police said.
Officers responded to the lake, at 4601 Avent Ferry Road, at about 8:15 a.m. Raleigh police spokesperson Jim Sughrue said the person's death was ruled a suicide.
City-County Bureau of Identification officials were also at the lake assisting Raleigh police.
Lake Johnson Park, which has 3.5 miles of paved greenway and 1.9 miles of unpaved trails, is part of the city's park system.
Lake Johnson Park is open daily from dawn to dusk.
