Raleigh police arrest 17-year-old in connection with April robbery

Raleigh police are seeking public assistance in locating a man wanted in connection with an April robbery.

— Raleigh police have charged a 17-year-old in connection with an April robbery that occurred in a parking lot in the 3800 block of New Bern Avenue.

Shalique Amiel Battle is charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police said a 17-year-old man and 19-year-old woman traveled to a parking lot on New Bern Avenue to purchase a designer belt after arranging to make the sale through social media.

When the purchase was complete, the seller left the vehicle, but returned with two other people and proceeded to steal cash, a backpack, an iPhone and the belt from the victims, authorities said.

Police said two other suspects were arrested and charged shortly after the incident.
