Raleigh parks lines up summer teen programs
From a week of cruising college campuses to volunteer opportunities to educational weeks focuses on firefighting or tech skills, Raleigh's teen programs offer a host of programs for high schoolers.

Here are the summer programs that still have openings, with descriptions courtesy of the city. The summer programs are offered to all, not just Raleigh residents. For non-residents, just add $12 to the total cost.
Location: Kiwanis Park
This is your all access pass to the sports management industry with behind the scenes tours of various sports complexes around the area and guest speakers. Tours will include college facilities, PNC Arena, Charlotte Motor Speedway, and Five County Stadium to name a few. There will also be friendly sports competition between campers.
A self-exploration program designed to assist students in gaining a greater awareness of institutions of higher education in North Carolina. Personal interest surveys, enhancing your resume, and campus tours to many of North Carolina's private and public universities are coupled with new friendships and a college atmosphere. This is a great chance for students to find a school that will prepare them for their future career! Campus tours include NC State, ECU, UNC, Elon, Wake Tech, NC Central, UNC-W, and Duke.

This service camp is a perfect opportunity for teens looking to fill community service requirements for school and have a great time too! The beginning of the week will focus on teambuilding and leadership development to prepare the Teen Corps for the service ahead. Service opportunities will focus on rewarding activities that will be both fun and challenging. There will be a reward on Friday to celebrate their experience.
Led by City of Raleigh Firefighters, participants will visit local fire stations to learn about firefighting and see just how tough the job can be. Classroom and physical fitness challenges along with interactive activities and field trips will highlight a week of fun and learning. Take this amazing opportunity to handle the tools and equipment used by actual firefighters and see if you have what it takes!

This camp will learn computer navigation skills alongside the functions of a computer and its basic programs. Participants will learn how to operate word processing software, manage databases, create spreadsheets and more! If you're looking to increase your computer efficiency this is the place to start!

Interested in the World Wide Web? Do you know the basic internet fundamentals such as running a query to find what you need, proper internet navigation or creating your very own internet publications? Participants in this course will have the opportunity to learn internet navigation as it relates to various tasks and design their own webpage for publication. Be a master of the World Wide Web and become a webslinger today!

Location: Lions Park, Marsh Creek, and North Raleigh Christian Academy (still have availability)
This camp provides a structured recreation curriculum designed for teens that includes both indoor and outdoor activities. Participants will participate in arts and crafts, recreational games, teambuilding, athletics, and other fun activities. An offsite field trip and trip to the pool are offered each week.
