RALEIGH, N.C. — Looking for haunted houses, trails and other frightfully fun adventures this October? If Halloween to you means spooky and scary, read on.
This list is full of frightening events -- even a haunted car wash. Most of the attractions on this list are designed for teenagers or adults. For family-friendly events, hayrides, corn mazes and more, check out WRAL Family's complete list of fall fun.

Raleigh NC haunted houses and trails

2808 Cedar Creek Road, Youngsville
Open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until Nov. 4

This haunted forest features five attractions: The Haunted Forest (12 eerie scenes over 0.5 miles), the Dark Trail Swamp, "Killers in the Corn" corn maze, the Howling Hayride "Hunt," Stalkers Farm and the Carny Crypt show. Tickets start at $30.

No one under 8 is permitted, and kids 8 to 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

6720 Good Hope Church Road, Cary
Open Fridays and Saturdays until Oct. 28

Come wander through the Field of Lost Souls and Rebellion Trail, The Gore House and Big Top Terror. Admission is $25 cash or $27 with credit card. Gates open at 7:30 p.m., with attractions beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets will be sold until 10 p.m.

Haunted Trolley Tours - Sold out for 2023
Mordecai Historic Park, 1 Mimosa St., Raleigh
2023 tours: Oct. 27-28, 6:45 p.m., 7:45 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.

Hop on board the Haunted Trolley, if you dare, for a special late night tour of downtown Raleigh's most haunted places.

Boyette Family Farm, 1620 Loop Road, Clayton
Open Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 6-28. Open Oct. 29-31 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Scary haunted attractions, including haunted houses, hayride and a spinning vortex (not haunted, but a terrifying experience).

8012 Fayetteville Road, Raleigh
Oct. 27-29, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

General admission is $20 on-site at time of event. Ticket includes a coupon for a free ceramic wash, free treats and candy and the haunted wash. Members of the car wash get in for free.

Open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in October and Halloween night

Experience the horrifying experiments of Dr. Surgeon at Surgeon Manor, visit the Slaughter House, Backwoods Terror Ranch Graveyard, Dystopian Abyss and more. Tickets start at $35.

Open Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 28

Xtreme Haunt lives up to its name with six terrifying attractions that put you in the middle of the action! Admission starts at $30.

11959 N.C. Highway 222 W, Middlesex
Open Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 4

The haunted walking trail is over a mile long taking you through scenes such as the Witch Doctor's Emporium, Insane Asylum, Clown Town, The Slaughterhouse, The Bundie Hotel, The S. S. Sea Hag, the Rottenkor Cemetery and many more.

Open the last four Fridays and Saturdays in October and Oct. 29-31

Drive through a giant movie screen and watch your favorite horror movie monsters come to life in their natural habitat in cinema's most famous scenes. Cost is $20 for a car with two passengers.
