Jackson, Wyo. — A Raleigh native who disappeared last week while snowboarding in Wyoming was found dead Thursday.
Search crews found 34-year-old Lee Kidd buried in 2 feet of snow at the bottom of a 500-foot cliff at Grand Targhee Resort, near Grand Teton National Park in northwest Wyoming, according to the Jackson Hole News & Guide newspaper.
Kidd, who attended Sanderson High School, went snowboarding on Dec. 23 and never showed up for work that day. Authorities said they believe he came too close to an overhang of hardened snow and it collapsed under him, the newspaper reported.
