— Raleigh City Council voted unanimously Thursday to name the city's longtime chief financial officer as the interim city manager.

Perry James, who is a 31-year veteran of the city, replaces outgoing city manager Russell Allen, whose last day is July 1.

James will run the day-to-day operations of the city until a permanent replacement is named.

James is a native of Wilmington and earned a bachelor's degree in business and accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Raleigh won't be in good shape until all of the liberal Meeker clones are removed from the Mayor's office and the city council.
