RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh murder suspect, who was arrested Friday in connection with a deadly shooting on July 2, is also facing other criminal charges.

Christopher Rodney Jones, 21, is one of 3 men charged with the shooting death of James Elvin Alston, III in the 700 block of Quarry Street. Records show Jones is also facing charges of assaulting a female-- and battering an unborn child.

It's unclear what these charges stem from.

Investigators found Alston dead in a home on Quarry Street about two blocks east of Ligon Middle School earlier this month.

Ashton Traevon Champion, 21 also faces a murder charge in the incident. Isaiah Freeman McFarland, 26, of Raleigh, was charged as an accessory.

All three men are scheduled to appear in court Monday.
