— A Wake County grand jury has indicted a Raleigh man who admitted in a 911 call to shooting his estranged wife this summer.

Mario Vellotti, 64, of 2728 Kinsley Place, was indicted on a first-degree murder charge in the Aug. 30 death of Agata Flipska Vellotti, 43, outside her apartment building.

According to court documents, the two were involved in a custody dispute over their 6-year-old son, and Agata Flipska Vellotti had sought out a protect order against her husband.

Mario Vellotti surrendered to police hours after the shooting. He is being held in the Wake County jail without bond.

It is a good thing that there was a gun laying around. Otherwise he might have had to content himself with punching her out.

Yes, because nobody EVER gets killed in countries with low gun ownership! No, wait...

there's always stabbing...because you know oddly enough people often have knives...heck you can just walk into any store and BUY ONE! Without an ID check even!!

or strangling even, because hands are often...to hand...

Get the facts straight. He is not in the Wake County Jail. He is at Central Prison waiting trial/sentencing.

It's not Illegal to marry a younger wife, and have a child with her. If it was Larry King would be in jail more than once. The killing of her is another story.

I cannot imagine the horror that the 6-year old must have felt. I hope the wife's family is able to care for him.
