Raleigh man gets $500K bond in witness intimidation case

Posted March 20, 2011

— A Raleigh man was charged with intimidating a witness Friday after police say he tried to prevent a witness from testifying in a Wake County court case.

According to arrest warrants, Tyquan Monzell General, 26, of 2305 Fox Hill Circle, allegedly tried to deter a Raleigh man from attending court by parking in front of his house the night before the court date and chasing and ramming into him, his daughter and his wife in a car on the morning of the court date.

Police said General also caused a disturbance at the witness' daughter's workplace on Thursday that led to her calling police.

General was being held at the Wake County jail under a $500,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
