A Raleigh man was sentenced Monday to 11 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to drug charges.

Shon Robert Purcell, 38, pleaded guilty in May to possession with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.

According to prosecutors, Purcell was arrested last November on a drug possession charge, but as police investigated further, they found that Purcell was responsible for selling more than 20 kilograms of cocaine.

In addition to his 132-month sentence, he must be on supervised release for five years.
