"A 50 year old could have sex with a consenting 16 year old and it is perfectly legal in NC. This guy should have waited the extra year and he would have been fine"- not knowing all the facts here, maybe he was told the person in question was older than they really are. My sister was good looking for her age and MANY people guessed she was 18-20 when in fact she was only 15. People lie about their ages all the time, the young lie and say they are older, have fake IDs etc.

"There is a law on that....if the 15 y/o was 18, nothing could be said....I don't know of anyone that had not had sex at that age."

The law is if someone is for someone under 16, that they can have sex with someone within 2 or 3 (I forget which) years of their age - so a 16 year old doesn't get arrested for sleeping with a 15 year old. If a person is 16 in NC, then they are considered a legally consenting adult. A 50 year old could have sex with a consenting 16 year old and it is perfectly legal in NC. This guy should have waited the extra year and he would have been fine.

Wiz-you don't know anyone that had NOT had sex at 15? You obviously ran with a crowd that was active early.

NO where in this article did it say the victim is female. Let's not assume.

They say love is blind, this proves it can be "stupid" as well.
