Raleigh man faces DWI, felony death charges from vehicle accident

A 21-year-old Raleigh man faces charges related to an accident that killed one person and injured another.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A 21-year-old Raleigh man faces charges related to an accident that killed one person and injured another.

Jacob Alexander Press, of 3501 Cumberland Creek Rd., Apt. 203, is charged with driving while impaired, felony death by vehicle, felony serious injury by vehicle and reckless driving to endanger.

Press was driving a Toyota pickup truck on Interstate 440 on April 26 when the vehicle crossed the median near Jones Franklin Road and hit a Toyota Prius, Raleigh police said.

The car’s driver, Rex Houston Todd, 67, died from his injuries. His passenger, Mary Louise Todd, 66, required emergency abdominal surgery.

Press remained in the Wake County jail Monday on an $180,000 bond.
