A Raleigh man has been charged with having sex with a girl who was under age 13 when the crimes allegedly occurred a decade ago.

<b>WAKE FOREST, N.C.</b> — A Raleigh man has been charged with having sex with a girl who was under age 13 when the crimes allegedly occurred a decade ago.

Joel Brian Gray, 42, of 2108 Katesbridge Lane, is charged with three counts of first-degree rape of a child. The arrest warrants allege the incidents occurred in 2003, 2004 and 2005 in Wake Forest.

Gray was initially held in the Wake County jail under a $1.5 million bond, but District Judge Robert Rader lowered it to $250,000 after several members of Christ Baptist Church spoke in a court hearing on Gray's behalf. Gray is a deacon at the church.
