Raleigh man dead following Sunday morning shooting

— Authorities said a man has died from the injuries he sustained in a Sunday morning shooting.

Around 4:15 a.m., officers with the Raleigh Police Department responded to a call that gunshots had been fired near the 1800 block of Cantwell Court.

Ricky Jay Wright, 54, of Raleigh, was found injured in a car in a parking lot on Lehman Lane.

Wright was transported to WakeMed, where he died as a result of his injuries.

Detectives are interested in speaking with anyone who was in the area at the time of the shooting and witnessed any activity there. Those with information that might assist the investigation are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 919-834-HELP or visit raleighcrimestoppers.org.

    Where are the protesters demanding someone be help accountable? Oh yes there was not a police officer shooting so no one will care to protest. Don't want one of your own in jail now do we? After all it is not news worthy to demand the criminal be put in jail.
