I think the reason this is news is that it seems so ridiculous. This is the kind of thing that (assuming there is nothing more serious to the story) the public should consider when voting for DA. Politicians love to be seen as tough on crime, especially sex offenders, but tough on innocent mistakes that do no harm is not good.

Good grief...I hope there is something more serious than this, like...Other women in the restroom at the time. I've gone in a public woman's restroom several times when it was empty, or the mens room was out of service.

-- hahaha....i've done this on several occasions on accident.
-- walk in and can't find the urinals...OH NO!! Thanks God I've -- not be caught.

I've done the same thing except I usually think:
    1) Haha, that lady's in the wrong bathroom.
    2) What a stupid bathroom, it has no urinals.
    3) Oops...

Maybe we should have a law that public restrooms should be clearly identified as Men's or Women's. The funky signs can be confusing.

Definitely more details that weren't released. Many men have accidentally walked into a women's restroom.

I don't think I ever went into a public restroom in Paris when there wasn't at least one woman present. It's considered in normal thre, and yes, there's a double standard. Men don't go wandering into the women's restroom, which usually have long lines anyway, while the stall in the men's are mostly vacant. And besides, which gender is always attacking and raping the other?

That said, the young man in the article will probably have to register as a sex offender. This is America, not France.
