Raleigh man charged with attempted murder

Police arrested a Raleigh man Thursday and charged him with attempted first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon, among other charges.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police arrested a Raleigh man Thursday and charged him with attempted first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon, among other charges.

Dasmen Morris Brown, 20, of 8200-306 Green Lantern St., is accused of shooting a person and stealing $80 on Wednesday, according to arrest warrants.

He was being held in the Wake County jail on a $1 million secured bond.

Police also arrested Samuel Stanley, 18, of 650 Conover Drive in Durham, and charged him with accessory after the fact, a felony.

Stanley gave law enforcement officers "incorrect and misleading information" about Brown "who had been in (Stanley's) hotel room previously," according to an arrest warrant.

No other information was released.

Brown was serving two concurrent probation sentences for a Nov. 23 larceny conviction and August convictions on three counts of attempted breaking and entering motor vehicles, according to state Department of Correction records.
