Raleigh man charged with attempted murder

Posted December 3, 2010

— Police arrested a Raleigh man Thursday and charged him with attempted first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon, among other charges.

Dasmen Morris Brown, 20, of 8200-306 Green Lantern St., is accused of shooting a person and stealing $80 on Wednesday, according to arrest warrants.

He was being held in the Wake County jail on a $1 million secured bond.

Police also arrested Samuel Stanley, 18, of 650 Conover Drive in Durham, and charged him with accessory after the fact, a felony.

Stanley gave law enforcement officers "incorrect and misleading information" about Brown "who had been in (Stanley's) hotel room previously," according to an arrest warrant.

No other information was released.

Brown was serving two concurrent probation sentences for a Nov. 23 larceny conviction and August convictions on three counts of attempted breaking and entering motor vehicles, according to state Department of Correction records.

NCAries: Well, since he has it so rough that he has turned to a life of crime to shoot someone over 80 whole dollars, let him come rob you and shoot you. See if you feel so sorry for him then. You are as gutless as he is!

I doubt either of them would ever be a benefit to society - do away with them both!

The crime in Raleigh is speaking for itself!

Where are all of the people talking about crime in Raleigh?

"You don't know what circumstance affected his life to make him turn to whatever he is."

    Well boo-hooo, spit on me.

God - you liver-lilled whimps just cannot wait to make comments to support the actions of criminals.

Who cares who he is or what he has been through... There is no excuse for violent crime against others!! Ever!

When are you pansies going to stop aiding the actions of these smugs???

NCAries: What generalized comments did YNCSW49 make? They sounded pretty specific to me. The only one making a reference to a group as a whole is you.

Personally I don't care what his circumstances are. He's violent criminal and needs to be locked in a cage. If you feel that sorry for him, petition the court to take him in and be responsible for him.

Sad, they would rather commit a crime than get a job or go to school to learn a skill or trade. Throw both of them in jail and throw away the key.

So you know these people personally? Generalized comments like this is what gets people angry and starts flaming arguments. You don't know what circumstance affected his life to make him turn to whatever he is. I don't know him. I just know it's a sad day when people are so discouraged with the struggle to make it in life that they resort to crime and drugs and all manner of ways to exist while bystanders judge the group by the actions of certain individuals within the group but not representative of the group as a whole.

Is this the one from the shooting at the Pointe At Crabtree Apts? I am assuming so. I was up at the time and the shooting happened right in front of my building. I was texting a loved one and then all of a sudden "HAPPY HOLIDAYS," this crackbaby started shooting in the parking lot.

    Whoa. Green Lantern street?
