According to the warrant for his arrest, Demetrious Delmenta Johnson, 20, of 8108-304 Green Lantern St., was protecting his brother, whom the store owner accused of shoplifting. The warrant did not name Johnson's brother.

Johnson was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and held on $30,000 bond.

Criminals have a hard time prooving self defense. That only flies in cases of police brutality, but not here. Let this loser sit in prison. IT won't change his life, but it makes mine a little more safe.

I guess my last comment wasn't PC worthy. Story as being reported on another local site says these guys were caught stealing 4 can of the popular drink 4 Loco. Nice........

"..was protecting his brother, whom the store owner accused of shoplifting."

This sentence is totally wrong. If the store owner was 'attacking' his brother, he would be 'protecting' his brother. But since the store owner wasn't attacking his brother, this criminal was assaulting the store owner. Wrong wording in that sentence. Put the blame where it belongs.

Here we go jumping to conclusions and not knowing the whole story. His brother could be mentally challenged and or don't know right from wrong. Lets get the whole story and let GOD be the judge.

Seem like there are a lot of facts missing...

Soemtimes you got to let your brother take responsiblity for his action. I doubt the storeowner was wrong and this young man should have stayed out of it. Hope both of these brothers realize the error in judgment except the punishment and get on with their lives.
