Raleigh man charged in string of robberies

— A Raleigh man faces a number of charges in connection with at least 10 robberies and attempted robberies.

Allen Smith, 25, of 1960-104 Milburnie Road, is charged with nine counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of kidnapping, one count of attempted armed robbery, two counts conspiracy to commit armed robbery, one count of probation violation and second-degree trespassing.

According to arrest warrants, several of the crimes occurred at automated teller machines with Smith allegedly using a handgun.

He is in the Wake County Jail under a $2,026,000 bond.

    well you don't have to worry about this one getting out with a bond like that.... hope the paper work doesnt get mishandled

    Here we go again with this probation violation. Keep his behind in jail or send him to prison. The way things sound, the next stop will be prison.

    It is beginning to be evident that probation is just not an effective way to deal with these habitual criminals!

    Maybe someday IN THE NEXT CENTURY, after many more lives are lost to these unreformable persons, someone will actually come up with a really good way to get a grip on them???
