So they handed out a gun permit to some Yahoo and he allowed the gun to be stolen

He allowed the gun to be stolen? that makes no sense. You sound like orielly on fox, what a spin. How bout we say an honest citizen was a crime victim, and did the reponsible thing and reported the gun stolen. an armed man is a citizen and unarmed man is a subject.

piene2: Are we to assume that you don't own anything that could potentially be stolen? Or are you just angry that you probably wouldn't qualify for a county-issued pistol purchase permit or a state-issued concealed handgun permit? As rabbitdog said: it's your right to live your life unarmed. Let us know how it goes when you're in an emergency situation and you get to count the minutes it takes for the police to arrive ...

piene2 for some reason I can't fully explain I'm glad that you and like thinkers remain unarmed. By all means, exercise your right to not providing your own protection.

It would be nice to know a few more details, like what led up to the shooting.

This reminds me of the Carmax commercials where the punchline is "That's not Smart" !!

So they handed out a gun permit to some Yahoo and he allowed the gun to be stolen? How nice. I suppose he will go right down to the gun store and buy himself another one. How very responsible of all parties concerned. It sounds like Holloway is the brightest one in the story.

Sadly I couldn't make it today. I know all of you missed me. I was going to wear a carnation in my lapel so if i got to be on television I could tell you all how to identify me.
