ROXBORO, N.C. — A Raleigh man who led Durham and Person County Sheriff's deputies on a chase across three counties was arrested early Monday, according to the Person County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say Carlos Martinez Coleman, 19, of Sturdivant Street in Raleigh, stole a silver 2000 Volkswagen Beetle from the Fas-Mart on Durham Road in Roxboro just after midnight.

Coleman drove south on North Roxboro Road into Durham, authorities said.

According to the Durham Police Department, officers flattened all four tires of the car with stop sticks at the corner of Roxboro Street and Latta Road.

Despite having four flat tires, Coleman continued into Durham on Duke Street before getting on I-85 South. He was arrested a short time later after stopping the stolen car near exit 157, authorities said.

Coleman was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, felony speeding to elude and other traffic violations.

No other information was released.
