— Police have arrested a man who they say threw a mixture of lye and water in the faces of two people at a Raleigh home Thursday morning.

John Douglas Glover, 60, of 7106 Falls of Neuse Road, was jailed under a $250,000 secured bond on two counts of malicious throwing of corrosive acid or alkali.

The victims, Pamela Walker, 50, and Charlie Leach, 56, were taken to WakeMed and later transferred to the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Officers were called shortly before 9 a.m. Walker's home, at 1809 Sunview St., and later took Glover into police custody.

Glover knows the victims, although it is unclear how.

He also faces misdemeanor probation violation charges and was being held without bond at the Wake County jail Thursday afternoon. According to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, he is a probation absconder.

A couple .45 ACP's would take care of that situation.

I do hope and pray the victim is pulling through this. God bless the person.

He needs help and certainly a long time in jail short of prison.

"US terrorists use lye instead of acid. Probably more cost effective. not dead yet June 6, 2013 7:51 p.m.

Why is he not charged with "terrorism"? No funny last name?"

Because, unlike the terrorists that do this to scare or terrorize women and girls to not go to school, this man was just attacking people he knew.

That's called assault. It's not terrorism if he's not using it as a way to stop other people from doing something besides the people he attacked.

How do you not comprehend what makes something an act of terrorism or not?

Glover knew the victims, although it is unsure how.
Well how about trying to get a little more information before reporting a story. Some folks are fine with who, where and when. However, some of us would like to know WHY.

That's a horrible crime; too bad he'll never know what pain he has caused these two people, much less disfigurement. I hope he never sees the light of day again. People disgust me.
