— A Raleigh man is accused of taking pornographic photographs of a minor.

Craig Howell, 44, was arrested Tuesday and charged with taking indecent liberties with a child.

The victim was under the age of 16 and the photos were taken over the last five years, according to the arrest warrant.

Police said Howell was a friend of the victim's family.

He was scheduled to appear in court at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

jedi, it is truly amazing, isn't it? It's like you never REALLY KNOW what anyone is capable of...

    over 5 years.......

prison is too good for people like that....

He's lucky that he's not living in the state of Texas...cause they still do hangings there, with a rope for crimes involving minors. It goes to show that you cannot trust no one,not even to leave your kids with someone that's has lost his or her ever loving mind....for what he did, they will fried him like chicken.

I like the island prison option only lets not just put the child molesters there, lets add a lot more.

There are so many. I think the island thing is a good idea. Let them have their own society. Serilize them so they have no children.... That would send that plan out the window. People would never accept that I guess.

I wasn't going to post this, but I feel I have to. I have been friends with Craig for a long time and it just goes to show you never know how someone really is. I am disgusted and embarassed and I never want to hear from him again. I hope he gets what's coming to him.

With friends like that - you certainly don't need enemies...

Why is it always a friend of the family? Makes you think you can't trust anyone! If this guy is guilty, I hope he goes away forever. Anneonymousone, I like the idea of island prisons -- drop them off and forget about them!

I know that not all who are accused are guilty, and that those who are not accused may still be guilty.

I am willing to believe that all sorts of people have something that's salvageable, that people can make substantial changes and become better than they were, but I just don't know if that applies to people who prey on children.

I keep thinking of island prisons....
