A Raleigh man is accused of breaking into a Raleigh grocery store and stealing more than $22,000 in cash and property.

Donald Regimond Ellison Jr., 20, of 1112 Deep River Court, was arrested this week on one count of felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and safecracking in connection with the Jan. 8 break-in at Carlie C's on Garner Station Boulevard in Raleigh.

He also faces an additional charge of felony breaking and entering in the Jan. 3 break-in of Las Margaritas restaurant on Timber Drive in Garner.

Ellison was jailed under a $60,000 bond.

And the comments on the different areas of town was not directed to where this store is, rather pointing out the fact that some areas are higher % of crime than others.

@cynda = I know exactly where this is, just past the Kick Back Jacks. What I am telling you is that area isn't the best of areas, surrounded by vacant buildings and low rent housing. It's a prime area for crime....just like the Mini City area, a once nice and decent area but no longer.

@jaecee = South Raleigh and Downtown areas are very different. The downtown area is heavily laden with restaurants and clubs that cater to all crowds. People from N Raleigh and other areas flock to the downtown scene because it's "trendy" nothing more. Everyone going down there understands the boundaries of where to go and where to stay away from. This area you call S Raleigh is widely considered Garner by most anyway. SE Raleigh is Rock Quarry and that area, no? I have no problem with the demographics in those areas just the statistics. I just know where I shouldn't be and that area is one among many.

Half of these comments are not even aimed at the correct location. This is not the one that just opened in the old Kroger space. This is the one in the old Winn Dixie space. So quick to join the bandwagon about something they apparently know NOTHING about.

I agree 100% with you...

Bartmeister...First of all this Carlie C's is not located in any of the areas you mentioned...Maybe he targeted this place because of the seclusion of the building...After 10pm most businesses in that area are closed so chances are he wouldn't be seen breaking in...My question is that if South Raleigh and the surrounding areas are so crime riddled then why are so many from the north and east of Raleigh want to flock to downtown Raleigh to drink and party or attend concerts right in the middle of the crime riddled neighborhood?
