Another issue is cultural. In Mexico this would not be seen as anything wrong if both individuals consented.

Actually that is incorrect. 16 is the legal age of consent in NC. An 18yo and a 15 yr old is a SEX OFFENSE and can be charged as statutory rape (if consensual) but often pled down.

Explains a lot , If you have a Twenty two year old still in your high school you have a problem.
Probably most the guys you know are in jail anyway.

Times have changed in just a few decades. Based on this scenario, most of the guys in my high school would be in jail today.

That is because in the situation you described nothing illegal happened. A 22 year old raping a 15 year old is illegal

    Something wrong with our system.
An 18 year old adult has sex with a 15 year old girl resulting the death of a new born baby. The girl is arrested and charged while the adult male is not charged with anything.
This guy is arrested and put under $1.5 million dollar bond, which he SHOULD be.

    Now how about baby daddy?

Finally, a bail amount that is appropriate for the charges.
