Raleigh man accused of assaulting sheriff's deputy

— A Raleigh man was arrested Friday after he allegedly assaulted a Wake County sheriff's deputy.

According to an arrest warrant, Marlon Brandon Dunn, 48, punched Deputy Chad Harrington in the chest and then flipped him to the ground while Harrington was trying to take him into custody for allegedly violating a domestic violence protective order.

Dunn was charged with one count of assault on a government official or employee and one count of violating a domestic violence protective order.

He was being held at the Wake County Detention Center without bond Sunday.

    He is where he should be there should never be bond for someone that breaks a protective order.

    If you are willing to assault an officer that way, then you have no business being on the street, violence is in you... if he would do that to a cop, imagine what he has done or will do to the woman with the protective order against him.?
