RALEIGH, N.C. — Authorities are searching for a 31-year-old Raleigh man who is cognitively impaired.

Adebayo Anjorin Ojo was last seen at 3208 Cotton Grove Run. The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for him around 3:45 p.m. Thursday.

Ojo is black, with short, black hair and brown eyes, 5 feet 6 inches tall and about 180 pounds. He has a scar above his right eye.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at 919-829-1911.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered people who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
