Raleigh Little Theatre's youth series continues March 1 with "Snow White, The Queen's Fair Daughter."

This isn't the Disney version of the classic story. Instead, it's an interpretation of the Grimm Brothers tale.

Here's a synopsis from Raleigh Little Theatre: This adaptation of Snow White tells the story of a mother and daughter who grow further apart as they get older. When the curiosity and ambitions of the young Snow White become too much for her controlling mother to handle, she is abandoned in the woods.
While in the woods, Snow White finds friendship in seven active dwarves who take her in and encourage a newfound romance that she finds with a handsome prince. As her jealous mother tries to ruin the life of young Snow White, her new friends find a way to save the day.

I have been to several Raleigh Little Theatre performances for kids and families and have never been disappointed. I am hoping to get to this one with my older daughter.

"Snow White, The Queen's Fair Daughter" runs March 1 to March 10 at the Cantey V. Sutton Theatre of the Raleigh Little Theatre, 201 Pogue St., near Cameron Village. Showtimes are Thursdays through Sundays. Tickets are $10 for kids 12 and under and $15 for adults.

For showtimes and tickets, go to Raleigh Little Theatre's website.

Also ... mark your calendars for a musical version of "The Brementown Musicians," which runs May 3 to May 19.

Raleigh Little Theatre also has a great slate of summer camps. For 24 years, the popular program has offered comprehensive theatrical training for kids ages 4 to 18. Click here for details. Registration is going on now.
