Raleigh insurance agent faces fraud charge

— State Department of Insurance investigators arrested a Raleigh insurance agent Wednesday on a fraud charge.

Craig Genard Jenkins, 41, of 4702 Summit Overlook Drive, was charged with obtaining property by false pretense. He was released on a $20,000 secured bond.

Authorities said Jenkins submitted 132 bogus business insurance applications to AFLAC to receive $22,130 in commissions.

    kn - The news article says applications, not claims.

    Hopefully he would not receive an insurance commission on a claim.

    Why was he hired in the first place? He could never be trusted. The money looked good and he thought that he could get away with it. I see the prison doors opening.

    Goodness - don't you think the fake applications at some point would need to be followed up with some premium payments???

    And don't even get me STARTED on State Farm (hope a certain agent in NW Raleigh is reading this......)
