Raleigh House Fire Investigated as Arson

Posted August 2, 2007

— Police and fire investigators are now looking at a fire that ripped through a nearly $1 million house early Wednesday as possible arson.

Raleigh Division Fire Chief Rusty Styons said investigators found “possible accelerants” in the remains of the house at 1419 Nottingham Road.

Samples have been sent to the State Bureau of Investigation's crime lab for testing, Styons said.

Styons said that because there was no power going into the house, investigators became “immediately suspicious” that it could be arson.

It will be several days before investigators get those test results back, he said.

Officials said the house was under contract for nearly $900,000. No one was inside and there were no reports of injuries.

High likelihood that it is a person with mental issues who think they are "helping the environment" by burning down a house that wasn't up to their subjective, projected and/ or unscientific standards. They didn't like that house because it was a brand new and permenant thumb in their inadequecy to actually effect change.
Passion? They make a statement that defies ration. Burning multiple hazardous substances that were never meant to be burned. For the rest of this community, please believe that all environmentalists are not eco-/building-/zoning-terrorists.
    Take Heart.
There are those of us out there that are trying to make things better and presenting alternatives instead of just slapping wrists, pushing guilt, and burning houses.

Reminds me of that construction worker up in Baltimore area who torched a bunch of million dollar homes under construction last year...could be something similar, could be anyone really.

Or it could be a disgruntled worker that was maybe let go from the job??? Just food for thought....

ahhh. weird. i was wondering if it was some eco-terrorism, somebody mad that they're tearing down old houses and building those large houses in their neighborhood.

Yeah dude, it's that house. Nottingham combines with Banbury and connects to Wade between Dixie and Brooks. I live about a few hundred yards away.
