— Raleigh police believe that the same armed two men robbed a Kangaroo gas station and a Food Lion store in less than an hour early Wednesday.

Police said the men stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the Kangaroo station at 3289 Avent Ferry Road around 6 a.m.

About 45 minutes later, two Food Lion employees told police that two men carrying a handgun approached them while they were taking a break outside the store at 5426 Six Forks Road. The women said the men ordered them to get the manager, who opened the safe. The men fled after stealing an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was injured, police said.

The gunmen at Food Lion had du-rags covering their faces and wore black pants. One wore an orange hoodie, and the other wore a gray hoodie.

Seems similar to this recent robbery near the Kangaroo Mart location: http://www.wral.com/news/news_briefs/story/5925632/

I live across the street from that Kangaroo Mart - and this is the second robbery there in a matter of weeks. We've had problems with loitering and blaring music (the bass shakes our windows) for some time. Contacted RPD, Council Member Crowder, the store manager and even Kangaroo's corp headquarters to complain, but nothing really changed. Maybe this will spur them to pay closer attention - but I won't get my hopes up.

Oh gosh. My brother's job is at that Food Lion. He is so lucky that he is sick on that day.

"The gunmen at Food Lion had du-rags covering their faces and wore black pants. One wore an orange hoodie, and the other wore a gray hoodie."

That pretty much explains it. Ya'll are funny with the doo-rag discussions. Its a rag that covers your hairdoo. Usually worn to cover the hair when it hasn't been washed in a long time. Like others wear a baseball cap.

What's wrong with this entire article!? WRAL editors are at it again. These people don't know how to write.

"Raleigh police that the same armed two men robbed a Kangaroo gas station and a Food Lion store in less than an hour early Wednesday." Ok -what's wrong with this sentence?

Sounds like one of Anthony Hinton's robberies. Nice to see he has recruited a new batch to go out and rob people/businesses.

I have no problem with paying my fair share of taxes if the court system would actually work. But they constantly release these thugs back out on society where they continue to prey on citizens. Most violent offenders seem to have many priors but are back out on the street. How about the court system making jail a place that they don't want to be? Convicted of a violent crime...mandatory 2 years, no parole or probation. Repeat offence...mandatory 5 years. And when in jail, no tv, social time, etc. Get 'em up at 5am to start hard labor every day. Keep 'em in their cages when they aren't working. Probem now is that they know they're only looking at a few months of free meals and hanging out with thier peeps.

    Doo-rag

I believe dew-rag, du-rag and do-rag are proper alternate spellings.

    Dude-rag.....not so much.

Well of course those costs come from the taxpayer, but the way the statement was worded made it sound as if they should be locked up for longer than a year and probation. Seems like it costs more to house them in jail for years and years than it does to arrest, arraign, etc.
