It takes two to tango. Dismissing this with "It's the gun's fault" sarcasm simply overlooks the facts that guns do indeed change the behavior of those that carry them, whether by giving evil doers the courage to do something evil or making wannabe Rambos more apt to do something stupid. I fail to see why that would be difficult to understand.

Crime of the century this wasn't, but it was still an armed robbery. No matter where, I'm sure the people who actually DO work for a living don't appreciate having some lunatic pointing a gun at them.

The "Dollar Store" probably does more cash business than other retailers.

A Dollar Store? Apparently the James Gang here doesn't think big.

When will you see that the gun did nothing at all? The gun did not rob the store. That is a human. A criminal. A low-life. The gun is not alive. It cannot do anything, by itself. No different than a knife, car or whiskey bottle, it takes a human.

Being unfamiliar with Family Dollar's procedures I was unable to factor the opening till into the estimate. Feel free to adjust if you have a feeling about how much they start with.
