"Never know - I know there are gang memers in middle schools now!"

We had a Gang Awareness presentation at our church this weekend. Gangs are recruiting kids as young as 9 years old. Many of the signs that the deputy pointed out to be signs of gang activity I don't know that I would have picked up on right away with my children. I'm going to withhold judgement on this one until more facts come out.

I met Reggie back in the late 80's and see him every now & again. He seemed like a hard working single father. I do not know anything about the gun situation, but want to find out the facts. Perhaps the gangs members got the kids to hide the guns. Never know - I know there are gang memers in middle schools now!

Hope someone took the kids to a safer place!

The article did mention the word "gang" professor.

I'm not reading stuff into it.

I have to possible takes. One is, Bloodworth is a scary place to live south of edenton street. I'd have as many guns as possible.

But police think it's kids an gang activity. Which also could mean by storing the guns, he's protecting his home, self and kids.

We don't know the reality of his situation.

Not saying he isn't breaking a law. But so far, no one got hurt, no one was killed that we know of.

I tend to think he might have some good reasons for having guns.

Just as I do with my redneck friends!

"The article said NOTHING ABOUT GANGS! Stop the speculating and reread the article for your own understanding or get someone to read it and explain it to you." - Professor

"Police said Keith allowed gang members to use his home to store their weapons." WRAL.com

The article identifies that the suspect allowed gang members to store weapons. So my question is why is he only charged with 3 misdeameanors?

Maybe the 'gang members' didn't give him a choice!!

Well, I guess he learned a hard lesson with the charges hanging on his shoulders. He is not the only parents that allows unlock guns in the home around children. May others learn.

I know a lot of white country fold that train and let their kids have guns. Rifles mostly, but guns never the less.

The issue isn't guns. It's what they're used for, no?

You don't exactly hunt deer on Bloodworth's street.

Let's not judge harshly. What kind of gang was it?

Was it like Archies "gang"? Or the Peanuts "gang"?

  • freetospeak Sep 8, 2009

Ya' live a thug lifestyle, you should be treated as such. No way in the world am I going to allow guns to be stored in my children's room. Bloodworth Street, the drug-ridden downtown area??? Give me a break prior posters, you know what the man was doing, ignorance is bliss isn't it?!!!
