It's time for teens in Raleigh and Durham to consider the cities' summer jobs programs.
Here's what you need to know:
Raleigh's program is designed for teens ages 15 to 18 who live in the city limits. They'll work 20 to 30 hours a week and get paid $7.25 an hour. Teens can work in an office, light labor or as a recreation counselor. Many of the teens also attend life skills workshops throughout the year.
Application and interview times begin March 5 and run through March 29 at community centers across the city. For all of the details and the full schedule, check the website.
Durham's summer work program is for youth ages 14 to 21. They'll work city and county jobs and at various businesses around Durham. The recruitment period began earlier this month. For all the details about Durham's program, click here.
