Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market kicks off with pig pickin'
The Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market starts its season on Wednesday.
Posted — UpdatedThe market will operate from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday at City Plaza on Fayetteville Street. The season ends on Oct. 30.
Also tomorrow, Southern Food expert Bob Garner will be on hand to discuss and provide samples of Brunswick stew.
There will also be children's activities and raffles/giveaways.
Bluegrass band Old Habits will provide music.

The last Wednesday of every month is "Wellness Wednesday." It will feature health screenings, free recipes, nutritional information, tastings and chef demonstrations.
