— City Councilwoman Mary-Ann Baldwin is using campaign funds to go on a trip to China sponsored by the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Baldwin reported a nearly $1,800 charge on her campaign finance report to pay for the trip. A spokesman said the nine-day tour is a permissible campaign expense for a council member.

The chamber is taking about 300 people on sightseeing tours of China in October and November. Chamber President Harvey Schmitt said the trips will provide a better understanding of China's culture and economy.

City Councilwoman Nancy McFarlane is also going on the trip but didn't charge the expense to her campaign.

ACORN also teaches this technique for spending travel funds.

It's former lawyer and trainer is on a boondoggle on the taxpayers nickel to campaign for Chicago to get the 2016 Olympics.

I know little or nothing about Chinese culture, business or food. How do I sign up to be educated?

    -----------------

Go to the DEMOCRATIC PARTY website or one of its affiliates (ACORN or almost any UNION) and click on "I want to have a campaign fund, pay for my mistresses home and/or travel the world"

The alternative is apply for one of the Whitehouse Czar jobs and hope its the one that "campaigns" with The One, himself!

Someone please tell me why a North Carolina councilwoman needs to go to China so badly that the trip merits the use of campaign funds.

"HOW MUCH DID IT COST THE TAX PAYERS? SHE SHOULD HAVE TO PAY IT ALL BACK. Professor

It is not taxpayer money! It is from campaign contributions. With campaign finance laws you cant use campaign donated money for personal use."

Seems that her boondoggle is a personal trip.

Taking voters on a guided tour is not justified as a campaign expense.

Understand China....watch You Tube clips of other peoples vacations for free, instead of spending so much on the trip
