Raleigh councilman battling cancer
Raleigh City Councilman Thomas Crowder is battling testicular cancer, Mayor Nancy McFarlane told other council members Monday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — City Councilman Thomas Crowder is battling testicular cancer, Raleigh Mayor Nancy McFarlane told other council members Monday.
Crowder, who is serving his fourth term on the City Council as southwest Raleigh's representative, was recently diagnosed with the disease, McFarlane said.
She said Crowder plans to keep working as his treatment allows, and he expects to fully resume his duties in July.
