This month is National Parks & Recreation Month. Raleigh parks is celebrating with a #TagURiT campaign featuring pictures and video in Raleigh parks through the end of this month.

Here's how it works, according to the press release: "Participants simply capture a fun, inspiring or special photo or video this month [in a Raleigh park] and upload it to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest with the hashtag #TagURiT. The top 3 photos will have a chance to win a GoPro Camera (Grand Prize), $75 Gift Card to REI (1st Place) and $50 Gift Card to Dick’s Sporting Goods (Runner Up)."

Raleigh parks has more than 220 parks and 100 miles of greenways. The parks department offers 13,000 programs, including summer camps, recreational leagues, classes and more. They offer a great variety of affordable programs for kids, especially.

Check the TagURiT Raleigh website for details about the contest.

Cary parks also is encouraging people to explore the town's parks and greenways.

Here's how Cary's contest works: "Take a selfie in a Cary park, on the greenways or enjoying a town arts and recreation programs. Share it on Facebook or Twitter and tag it #caryparkrec or #julyoutisin — you could win a prize pack full of Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources goodies."
