Raleigh car accident causes power outages

The accident occurred in the 8300 block of Honeycutt Road and resulted in damage to a utility pole, Raleigh Police Department spokesman Jim Sughrue said.

A single-vehicle accident caused power outages Tuesday night.

The accident occurred around 7 p.m. in the 8300 block of Honeycutt Road and resulted in damage to a utility pole, Raleigh Police Department spokesman Jim Sughrue said.

At one point 1,400 customers in Raleigh were without power Tuesday night, Progress Energy officials said. Power was restored within several hours.

No serious injuries were reported.
