An Amtrak train traveling from Charlotte to Raleigh was delayed for nearly three hours Sunday evening after it hit a man 6 miles south of Kannapolis.

CONCORD, N.C. — An Amtrak train traveling from Charlotte to Raleigh was delayed for nearly three hours Sunday evening after it hit a man 6 miles south of Kannapolis.

Charlotte media outlets reported that Amtrak train 76 departed from Charlotte at 5:15 p.m. and was due in Kannapolis at 5:40 p.m. when it struck the man at a crossing near Magnolia Crossing Circle and Sweet Bay Lane in Concord.

Further details weren't immediately available Sunday night.
