It appears this story didn't even get his name correct, or perhaps his profession, as upon a basic web search his listed name isn't a licensed attorney in NC... so, what's the real story here?

kinda strange ... sounds like an attack on someones 'status'? nice work WRAL, for ruining someones life that has spent years to build. Everyone has a night on the town and sometimes ... oh well. I recall recently Reece Witherspoon had one ... but the media wasnt has harsh on her.

Several commenters have mentioned that he threw a cup of urine at a nurse- hence the assault on a female charge- but I don't know where they got this detail or if it is true.

    Re: various comments this morning.

John Montgomery Holmes III is listed as a defendant in several Wake County cases, among them alleged assault on a female. The story makes no mention of this charge making me wonder if it's in fact the same person. See: http://www1.aoc.state.nc.us/www/calendars.Criminal.do?county=999&court=BTH&defendant=holmes%2Cjohn&start=0&navindex=0)

As for the name "James Holmes, Jr." a search using the lawyer directory of the State Bar website reveals no exact matches: http://www.ncbar.gov/gxweb/mem_search.aspx).

These apparent discrepancies make me suspect something's funny regarding the alleged facts in this article and I'd like someone to provide a little more information.

He may have to hire the firm of Dewey, Cheatum, and Howe to fix this mess.

That's a very good question. Wasn't there something about a fight at a nightspot in Kenly which required several agencies to respond with at least 7 arrests? I haven't come across THAT story on here yet. Or. did I miss it?

"Alcohol is the most used and available gateway drug in the world. I hope he finds his way" Guy

Agree - it also destroys more families and people's lives than perhaps any other drug as it is so easily available to purchase and consume. I to hope he has found his bottom before he destroys his or someone else's life...
