Raleigh asphalt plant catches fire

Raleigh, N.C. — Firefighters responded to Rea Contracting, at 3010 Gresham Lake Road, Thursday morning as black smoke was coming from the asphalt plant.
A fire started around 9:45 a.m. after workers started the equipment and some excess rubber caught fire, according to fire officials.
No one was injured, and the plant was not damaged.
