<b>LUMBERTON, N.C.</b> — Weekend rains helped extinguish more than a dozen wildfires across Robeson County, authorities said.

Since Nov. 5th, about 70 fires in the county that have charred more than 1,000 acres.

Fourteen wildfires were still active Tuesday, ranging in size from a half-acre to 40 acres. But firefighters said all of the fires have been contained.
