Raeford man killed in collision with Bragg military vehicle

A Raeford man died Wednesday when the car he was riding in struck an armored military vehicle on Fort Bragg, authorities said Thursday.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — A Raeford man died Wednesday when the car he was riding in struck an armored military vehicle on Fort Bragg, authorities said Thursday.

The car was eastbound on Chicken Road on post at about 5 p.m. when it hit a Caiman Mine-Resistant, Ambush-Protected vehicle as it was entering the roadway from the post’s Range 52, authorities said.

Army medics on the scene provided immediate medical assistance, authorities said. A second person in the car was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment of injuries that weren't life-threatening.

The names of the people involved haven't been released.

Fort Bragg military police and special agents from the Army Criminal Investigation Command are investigating the crash.
