Raeford man fatally shot at Hoke County club

Posted August 19, 2012

— A Raeford man was shot in the head early Sunday at a club in Hoke County, Sheriff Hubert Peterkin said.

Officers were dispatched to McRae's, a private club at 2923 Doc Brown Road, around 1:30 a.m. to investigate a shooting.

Royal Terrance Wyatt Jr., 33, of 750 Gatlin Farm Road, was found dead inside from a gunshot wound to the head with what appeared to be a 9mm handgun, Peterkin said.

Detectives determined that Wyatt had been assaulted by several people before the shooting.

No arrests have been made and the shooting is still under investigation.

Nothing good ever happens at a club these days...best thing to do is stay clear of these types of places. There nothing more than a breeding ground for trouble.
