— Hope Mills police have charged a U.S. Army employee in connection with sex crimes involving a minor.

Ryan Benjamin Oldenburg, 32, of 155 Richfield St. in Raeford, was arrested Thursday on two counts of indecent liberties with a child and one count each of second-degree sex offense and communicating threats.

This just makes me sick! I'm not talking about Ryan, I am talking about the people who posted on here about this. You should all be ashamed of yourselves! Snip snip, cut off his parts and put them in his hand, come on people. That is just rude and ignorant. Whatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"? Ryan is a great guy that I have known for many many years and I know he could never do this. There are some crazy women out there that would do anything to get back at someone, even using their own child as leverage. Women can be cruel and just plain mean when they don't get their way and obviously this woman is one of them. You read these accusations against him and automatically assume they are true. Ryan, keep your head up buddy, you will make it thru this and everyone who was against you will feel like a giat jack@**. Love you my friend, stay strong!

"But man, is not that face the poster child for a child molester?"
    Mr. Middle of the Road

You cannot tell who is or isn't a child molester by their face.
Every parent needs to be on guard of who sees their children. Perverts are everywhere, so check out other family members, friends, teachers, coaches, school bus drivers, janitors, resource officers, preachers, fellow church members...the list is never ending. In fact the list is so never ending that it can also include a parent or step parent, and single parents need to be extremely careful who they choose to partner with. That boyfriend may not be as attracted to you as he is to your children.

I wonder where the accountability is in 3rd Special Forces Group's leadership. Less than a year ago this soldier (along with 4 other soldiers) got charged with felony assault for brutally beating a 48 year old man in a bar for no reason, while attending a school for Blackwater. You can not tell me that last year he brutally beats a man, this year he is accused of molesting a 15 year old boy, all while being a stellar soldier in the Army. They need to stop "sweeping stuff under the rug" and hold soldiers in the SF community accountable for their behavior on and off duty. It is hard for me to believe like "lhplus3" states that his ex-girlfriend and her mother could make felony assault charges on not only one soldier but, ALL five of them stick if they were innocent of those charges like he is probably not innocent of these charges either...

my only question is how is it an "ex girlfriend" when this man is married to a local real estate agent? was this lady arrested for damage to his vehicle? i hope you dont have children that hang out or around this guy.... and to say a teenage boy would lie about a male doing this?

lhplus -- You must know this guy personally. All I can say is that you can think you know somebody like the back of your hand; but one never really knows what goes on behind closed doors. How do you know that she didn't key his car because she found out he had been touching her child? You don't know if the child is being asked to lie or not either, so why would you make such a claim?

Ryans charges were dismissed in his case near backwater. Also he had a restraining order on the victim and his mother already. The mother is an ex girlfriend who keyed his car and lied to the Elizabeth town d.a to try and get him in trouble. Can you say crazy!! I feel very sorry for this little boy who is being asked to lie!

There are civilians employed by the Military who are NOT active duty service members..... Just because he was/is an employee of the US Army it does not make him enlisted on active duty or otherwise.

How does an active duty soldier get jowls like that? Too many MREs and not enough running?

"Police records list his employer as the U.S. Army"

why not come out and say he's a special forces sergeant?
he's also been in trouble before while training at blackwater. not a very nice guy.

his alleged victim in this case is a 15 year old boy who he gave alcohol to, fondled, and threatened to shoot him in the facec if he told.
if this is the way our troops act at home how are they overseas?
