Raeford, N.C. — A 48-year-old Raeford man was arrested and charged Tuesday with raping a friend, the Hoke County Sheriff's Office said.
Elton Sylvester Francis, of the 400 block of Wedgefield Drive, is charged with second-degree kidnapping and two counts of second-degree forcible rape, according to the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office. He remained in the Hoke County jail Tuesday under a $20,000 bond.
The rape occurred on Oct. 10 and was reported Nov. 29, authorities said.
“The suspect initially denied having sexual intercourse with the victim, and later admitted to touching the victim in a sexual manner,” the department said.
