Quail Ridge Books & Music in Raleigh continues to line up some pretty amazing visitors from children's authors this fall.
I wrote earlier about scheduled dates for Judy Schachner of Skippy Jon Jones fame and Kevin Henkes of countless famous picture books (like "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse" and "Kitten's First Full Moon").

Here's some more

Brian Selznick is an award-winning author and illustrator of books like "Wonderstruck" and "The Invention of Hugo Cabret," which earned the Caldecott Medal. He visits Raleigh at 7 p.m., Oct. 16, with his book "The Marvels." According to Quail Ridge," "Massively illustrated, 'The Marvels' is a story of family, the past and puzzles, stretching over centuries. Brian does an amazing multimedia program on the book and his work."

The event will be held at the nearby Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh, 3313 Wade Ave. Doors open at 6 pm. This is a ticketed event. With the purchase of "The Marvels" from Quail Ridge, you'll get up to two admission and signing line tickets. When you buy the book, you also can purchase a third companion ticket for $5. This is best for ages 9 and up.

If the schedules align, I'll be taking my 10-year-old to this. She is a huge fan of both "Wonderstruck" and "The Invention of Hugo Cabret."

A few days later, Adam Rubin and Dan Salmieri, the author and illustrator team who wrote "Dragons Love Tacos," among others, come back with "Robo-Sauce." They'll visit Quail Ridge at 5 p.m., Oct. 20. Writes Quail Ridge about the book: "A special sauce turns a boy into a robot, who then transforms everyone and everything into robots. Where will it stop? With a giggle-inducing story, and a fold-out you have to see to believe, this is the funniest robot apocalypse ever." This one is best for ages 4 and up. Rubin and Salmieri visit Quail Ridge on the day the book comes out so there will be a launch party.
