Purses Auctioned at Fund-Raiser
Dozens of handbags were auctioned off to benefit a good cause.
Posted — UpdatedCARY, N.C. — Dozens of handbags were auctioned off Sunday to benefit a good cause.
WRAL personalities Valonda Calloway, Lynda Loveland, Kim Deaner and Sloane Heffernan, along with others, donated items for the Southern Ladies Purse Gala in Cary.
The final tally is not in yet, but officials said the gala raised more than $28,000. Proceeds go toward the "Me Fine Foundation," an organization that provides assistance to sick children and their families at Duke and UNC Children's Hospitals.
