Publix Super Markets has just announced that they will be opening a new store in Apex, NC.

The new grocery store will be located at the intersection of Olive Chapel Road and Kelly Road in Apex, NC. They expect to open the 45,000 square foot store sometime in 2017. The store will employ between 125 and 150 associates.

Publix opened their first Triangle location in October 2014 at 1020 Bradford Plaza Way, Cary, NC 27519 at the corner of High House Road and Davis Drive. They expect to open another Cary location at 3480 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary in the future.

North Carolina Publix locations do not double coupons. You can see their full coupon policy on their website.

Publix was founded in 1930 in Winter Haven, Florida, by George W. Jenkins. Publix is privately owned and operated by its 175,000 employees, with 2014 sales of $30.6 billion. Currently Publix has 1,098 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina.

    Reasons to go to Publix:
    1. Super friendly and great customer service
    2. Someone already mentioned their yummy subs and other prepared foods. I really like their quinoa and cranberry salad! Plus their brand of lemonade is the best!
    3. Amazing bakery...particularly their chocolate ganache cake and quesito con guava (turnover with guava and cream cheese)!! They also make their own frostings in store-- doesn't come in those buckets that other stores use.
    4. If you allow them to help you out with your groceries, they give you a coupon for a free product! The product changes every week.
    5. They accept those $10/$50 coupons that HT sends! Plus I'm in their "Baby Club" and get other store coupons sent to me.

Not saying they are better than HT...I still shop there as well (about 1/2 the time) but Publix is really a great store. I think having a variety of places to choose from for grocery shopping is wonderful!

Why go to Publix? Their SUBS!!!! Best subs I've ever had and surprisingly affordable (and often on sale). Besides that, I prefer their organic lettuce, and they have significantly better deli options/quality as far as salads, prepared foods, etc. Plus bakery options. I've pretty much figured out how to shop their sales now, and I end up saving a lot. They are a great supplement to HT and my now favorite remodeled FL. Hopefully the Apex store will have cart return areas.

How long has Publix been in Cary? Maybe a year? In that time, I've stepped inside the store 2 times. Harris Teeter has done an excellent job at keeping me as a customer. They have me wrapped around their little pinky finger.
A steady stream of $10/$50 coupons combined with $10 off a gas card wyb %50, along with double coupons, super double promos.... why would I go to Publix????

It probably is, so you have no reason to go there. Stick with Dollar General.

I live in Cary but rarely trek down to Publix......they are at a Harris Teeter price point but their sales don't seem to be as good (especially compared to EVIC deals) and they don't double coupons :-/

Let's just say I'm SOOOO glad I didn't buy the house that was practically at the same intersection when we first moved here!

It's kind of a remote location, but I guess they are trying to get close to 540.

Woopie -sarcasm! We don't need such an overpriced store in our area (that area). We WANT a regular, fairly reasonably priced grocery store in that area like a Food Lion or HT. Growing up in that area all my life, wanting a grocery store to come near us - and now this. What a joke and waste of space!

Yawn, just another over priced grocery store
